Dive into the fascinating world of biomedical sciences with the Biomedical Master's Programme at VU Amsterdam. This unique programme offers a multidisciplinary approach to address complex biomedical issues.
What sets this programme apart is the unique opportunity to combine various specialisations: In the first year you choose from our selection of specialisations in a biomedical discipline (i.e. Immunology, Neurology, Infectious Diseases). Subsequently, in your second year, you can opt to enhance your expertise in another biomedical field or delve into disciplines with broader societal implications, including International Public Health, Science in Society, Science Communication, or Secondary Education Teacher Training. This multi- and interdisciplinary strategy equips you with a diverse skill set, opening doors to a range of career possibilities.
Our programme also includes two different internships and a literature thesis within your chosen field, all performed under the guidance of experienced researchers. These components provide invaluable practical experience and a comprehensive understanding of your selected specialisations.
Upon completing our Master’s programme, you will be well-prepared to operate as an independent professional across various biomedical disciplines. Graduates possess a profound understanding of integrating diverse biomedical disciplines and navigating the societal interface to tackle biomedical issues. Additionally, you will have acquired in-depth knowledge, skills, and competences in a specific biomedical discipline, along with the ability to broaden your expertise into another biomedical field or engage in research at the intersection of science and society.
Transform your passion for biomedical sciences into a thriving career with our programme.
