During this two-year, English-taught Master’s, you will engage in pioneering research in order to develop, improve and implement (novel) chemical processes, products and materials. From capturing and reusing CO2 to detecting diseases and from improving batteries to purifying water using membranes, you will harness state-of-the-art technology and techniques to address the challenges that society faces today.
You have a lot of freedom to tailor your Master’s in Chemical Science & Engineering to your interests and ambitions. Whether you want to focus more on designing and optimising chemical processes as a process engineer, research new materials and (bio)molecular structures with high-tech features or want to become a materials scientist or engineer with multidisciplinary skills: we offer three specialisations to develop your own expertise.
These specialisations are closely linked to each other, which allows you not only to specialise but also to acquire knowledge from the other specialisations at the same time. You will not easily find this interdisciplinarity at other universities.
When applying for this Master’s, you need to choose one of the following specialisations. Your choice determines a part of the courses you will take and the type of research you will engage in during your master’s thesis.
- Chemical & Process Engineering (CPE)
- Molecules & Organic Materials (M&OM)
- Materials (MAT)
